Way out Bush!!!!

Photographer Scott G Trenorden, makeup artist Elsie Tan and I got together to discuss a photo shoot idea that Scott had. He knew of a great location way way way out bush for a great fashion shoot, and it was great!!! I designed and made a two dresses (purple and silver) and brought along a few more of my older ones. I also, brought Rashas dress from the Prelude Exhibition. The main vision for the shoot was light floaty gowns.

Model Rachael Cross and her mum Tracey came along for the adventure. They are always good company. Tracey is really great at hair and she is happy to assist with lighting or anything else anyone  needs... Both of them are such great value. We also were accompanied by model Alanna O and her good friend. Plus, Megan Henderson as the lighting and photographers assistant, and Amber (Scotts girlfriend came along too).

The best part of this shoot was I got to drag my little family along with me. My poor husband can not stand fashion events, photo shoots, fabric shopping...  so the poor thing sucked it up and was a good sport and came. It was a fun family weekend (for me anyway hee hee).

We spent two days out bush. We stayed at this big old country home in the middle of no-where. It had such character and it spoke volumes. It told stories about the people who live there and the lives that they have lead. It was so enchanting. I fell in love with the place straight away and just soaked up every last second of it. Great company, great house, great photo shoot.. what more can you want!!!

It was bitterly cold the day of the shoot. So maybe I could have wanted warmer weather, but it was so perfect regardless. The models were such great sports. It must have been terrible for them but neither complained.

 Here are some of my images taken from the day...

I like to take pictures while the shoot is going on. Not only to capture and record to essense of the shoot but to also see the angles and shapes of the gown and positioning of the model.

I love this picture with Elsie the MUA holding the gown, Alanna so casual wearing a light weight gown in the freezing southern wind, Scott and Megan getting the lighting right...

It was amazing how the sky changed so quickly between models. It was perfect to have the blue sky with the blue gown Alanna O wore and this Purple one worn by Rach. She just looked stunning, they both did.
